July 2009

What a great summer we are having. Jude did an awesome science experiment with corn starch and water. It was messy and fun! He is currently "growing" rock candy. He has been finding all kinds of crumbs, leaves, any small thing, to look at under his microscope. He really enjoys looking at things close up. He really seems to be into science this summer. We are just letting him lead the way! We were able to go to Cosi again but this time it was during the "big machines" exhibit outside. Jude was able to actually maneuver a track-hoe! He was very excited. Daddy was with him outside. It was a bit warm for Lainey so she and I were inside. She sat down in the toddler area and moved a truck a little until another mom got to close! She still is leery of strangers.

We also planted some pumpkins and cantaloupe at Mamaw and Papaw's. They are growing really well so far!

Jude build a model of a T-Rex with some help. He read the book and learned a little more about dinos although he already knows so much!

We went to see the "Big Muskie Bucket" and it was HUGE! That is Daddy Jude and Lainey inside the bucket or "scoop" It was hot so Lainey and I waited in the car while Daddy and Jude looked some more.

Jude loves the trampoline at Mamaw and Papaw's! He calls this move the "dead fish" lol he flops all around on the trampoline!

Lainey has taken some steps by herself!!! She knows that she's doing it and she just grins and is so very proud of herself. She only does it bare foot so her PT said to just let her go without the braces for now. It is amazing. She also ate a few bites of applesauce. She is growing every day! She has always loved music. I downloaded some songs for her on my phone. She loves "Ain't that a Shame" by Fats Domino! She can be crying or upset and I play that song on the phone and she stops, grabs the phone and holds it in all different positions. She is adorable with it!
