March 2010

We all have been fighting illness the last month. We've been doing a lot of learning about the digestive system! Jude has been looking up a lot of health info online.

We also learned about jellyfish and how they reproduce. I saw an article online about the "immortal" jellyfish and Jude was intrigued and we learned a ton about jellies!

Jude had gotten a dino "reconstruction" kit and finally was able to do part of it. He put the skeleton of a Triceratops together and then I helped him place it in the mold and place the filler mold pieces in, clamp it shut, and mix and pour the gel into the mold. It turned out very neat. Hoping to post pics of it soon. He has been adding to his rock collection and even found a couple more shell fossil ones!

We took a trip to Cabela's Sports store. The have really cool animal set ups. The taxidermy is amazing. They also have a live aquarium there. We all had fun and Jude loved seeing some animals that live near us and some he recognized from books.

Jude has been watching "American Pickers" on The History Channel with us as well. It is really amazing to see what people think is trash that is valuable. He also has been playing games on the History Channel online. He did FANTASTIC on placing the states where they go on the map! I was so impressed.

Jude has been working on his "big prize" workbook as we call it! His writing is slowly improving with the pressure lifted off of him. He's been adding time (which of course can be hard!) without even realizing it. He will ask when something is going to happen and when I tell him, he'll say something like "oh so like 45 mins from now?" How wonderful?!! He also chose to do a decimal page in the workbook so we talked about how they work.

Lainey has been exploring sounds again! She has been growing more and more. We had to adjust her wheelchair to better fit her. She has been pointing her toes when it's time to put on her pants! Seems silly but that is her anticipating something!

This is another message from Jude it says "Love you I do hee hee hee!" and has a drawing of Yoda! How adorable!
